NYC Haiku #1-10

1.
Skyscrapers rise high
steel and glass scrape morning clouds—
dreams stitched in the sky

2.
Rush hour pulses
beneath the city’s heartbeat—
trains scream into dark

3.
Steam climbs from the grate
like breath from a sleepless mouth—
winter on Broadway

4.
Lady Liberty
with torch raised against the dusk—
welcome, stranger, home

5.
A yellow blur speeds
past a hot dog stand’s warm glow—
midnight never sleeps

6.
Central Park exhales
green lungs in a concrete chest—
joggers in the mist

7.
Jazz spills down the steps
in a Harlem basement bar—
notes taste like bourbon

8.
Bagels in hand, late—
sunrise shimmers on the East
through silver silence

9.
Brooklyn bridges time—
iron bones and whispered pasts
thread the boroughs close

10.
Rain paints SoHo slick
as neon drips on cobblestones—
fashion breathes in light
