NYC Haiku #11-20

 11.

A saxophone weeps
in the haze of Times Square light—
ghosts of clubs gone by

12.
Sidewalks swarm with feet
each pair pacing a story—
ten million novels

13.
Graffiti murals
shout from every corner wall—
city soul on brick

14.
Coney Island breeze
salt and sugar on the tongue—
roller coasters groan

15.
Wall Street’s rising tide
crashes in a click and hum—
money never rests

16.
The High Line above
old tracks hold wild blooms and art—
a slow breath of green

17.
Snow hushes the town
taxis mute in muffled white—
brief peace on Broadway

18.
Chinatown lanterns
glow through dumpling-scented air—
dragons curled in steam

19.
In Washington Square
a chess king sips bitter tea—
rook to heart, checkmate

20.
A child watches rats
dancing in subway shadows—
welcome to the show
